Devghat – An island outside time

My family had managed to squeeze in a 2-day trip for a pilgrimage to Devghat and Manakamana in spite of our usual hectic Dashain celebrations. With my grandma in tow, my brother and I drove our tiny family car from Kathmandu to Devghat then onto Sauraha of Chitwan for the first night. A large part of the next day was spent standing in queue for a glimpse of the Manakamana Temple and all 5 of us (my grandma, dad, brother and me) arrived safely home late in the evening, tired but happy that we had managed the pilgrimage to Devghat.
